Lust for longer lives -- a good thing? (The Washington Post, 01 Mar 2011, Page E3)

If life is good, is more of it better? In what sense?

I'm inclined to agree that life is good, my own life in particular, and this attitude seems to be one of the defining aspects of being a living entity. However life also has its natural limits -- 'man is mortal' -- and there's only so much love lost between individual life forms.
